JEAN-JACQUES HAUSER
THE PIANIST PAINTER

In his spare time he likes drawing and painting. Subjects are varied: portraits, landscapes and fantasy scenes often inspired by the cosmos. At some point, painting approaches music performances in concert: paintings are projected on the wall behind his instrument and music is improvised on various topics.

...And then light cuts and reflections of water, endless skies and aggregations of galaxies condense on his web, according to a poetics of informal ancestry made of color mixtures, of free signs and touches by the spatula or brush that emanate from an original center to invade then all the pictorial space. Jean-Jacques Hauser is not only more private but also freer, capable of improvising closely to his music, he plays on rapid touches of color, on a free phrasing and sudden changes turning the canvas in a field of latent energies and dynamics obtained by the color flow...

Suoni e colori (Sounds and colors)

In 2000, Jean-Jacques Hauser wants to dedicate an exclusive gift to Bellinzona, the city where he lived and worked for half a century: a concert in which improvised music is enriched by original pre-recorded effects by those characteristic views chosen for the same painting realization.
Painting details are also visible, accompanied by live recorded music on YouTube: Tartarov improvisation suoni e colori (sounds and colors).

FIGURES FROM THE WOOD

From time to time he leaves the studio to go to the thick forest where he has a tiny cottage just a few miles from his home. The hard work is challenging but essential to ensure the maintenance and improvements of the rudimentary construction, but in return this secluded retreat provides him with an opportunity to discover unsuspected wonderful treasures.

It becomes a meeting point for friends and colleagues who are willing to break the rhythm of the daily schedule to listen to the silence of woods… and plunge in most intimate thinking!

...The charming geometry of concentric lines in the heart of old trunks, evidence of the inexorable passage of time...
...broken branches, tangled roots, twigs and foliage reveal - with a few appropriate taps - unexpected features inviting the imagination to wander among memories, thoughts and a distant past...

The thought then extends beyond the dimensions of reality evoking a world of fairytales, magic, dreams… and unwittingly in some forms you find the divergent characteristics and the expression of the primordial and conflicting instincts of the human soul...

Joks

...the reenactment and wonder of the early childhood

...the grandeur of prehistoric beasts

...the inevitable and treacherous encounters with creepy-crawlies

...or those supplied with special weapons coming to climb many obstacles with shrewdness and perhaps reaching pedestals of glory

...the subtle appearance of creatures of the light from the graceful and sinuous forms that with dancing movements invite you to dream in unreal atmosphere

Many contrasting figures in the alternation of joys and sorrows, successes and disappointments, light and shadow step by step, accompany us in the journey of life.
